Why we create
We are living in very turbulent times, not just here in the USA. Everything a world leader does effects....the world.
I am part Seminole and African on my mothers side, Siberian/French Jew on my fathers.
I am an immigrant and a native.
I am an artist. I am a activist. I am a women.
Keep Fighting, Keep creating! We as artist and craftsperson's are the first target of this administration. WHY!
We are the free thinkers, we see everything and are not afraid to speak up. The writers, painters, dancers, journalist, sculptors, cartoonist, illustrators, actors, designers, knitters, Photographers, directors, woodworkers, weavers, potters, musicians, doll artist and even chefs change the world.
We don't do it for money, We do it for life, and the lives of others.
We make the world a better place, We see the truths, we say the truths. We hold a mirror up to ourselves and examine the good and bad.
So when they want to cut the budget for the National endowment for the arts, who does it effect? You... all of you. The video games you like to play were created by artist. The restaurant you like to go to was created by craftsperson's. The building you work in was built by craftsperson's. The music you listen to, your 10 year olds ballet recital, the camera man that shoots the Super Bowl, the car you drive was designed by an artist, the flag you like to wave was built by a crafts person. everything you read was written by a writer. Every Library and Memorial statue ever build was built by artist and crafts persons.
So, before cheer that budget cut, think how it really effects you.
