The Artistic Path: Be specific

In my last post I talked about being specific. The more Specific you are, the clearer the intention of your piece will be. This is how you develop you eye and your artistic voice.

While designing this piece I asked myself several questions.
  1. If there was a women saving the unicorns who would you be? The answer was a peasant women wouldn't have time to save the unicorns, so it would have to be a women of leisure.
The fussy garb of a upper class in  Brussels were the tapestry was made in 1495, would not be suitable for tramping through the woods so
I choose a Linen fabric and embroidered the hem.
A small crown and metal mantel show her social status.
The specific choices make her mission clearer to the viewer.
